- Upgrade to latest from NSA
* Fixed use of policydb_from_image/to_image to ensure proper
init of policydb.
* Isolated policydb internal headers under <sepol/policydb/*.h>.
These headers should only be used by users of the static libsepol.
Created new <sepol/policydb.h> with new public types and interfaces
for shared libsepol.
Created new <sepol/module.h> with public types and interfaces moved
or wrapped from old module.h, link.h, and expand.h, adjusted for
new public types for policydb and policy_file.
Added public interfaces to libsepol.map.
Some implementation changes visible to users of the static libsepol:
1) policydb_read no longer calls policydb_init.
Caller must do so first.
2) policydb_init no longer takes policy_type argument.
Caller must set policy_type separately.
3) expand_module automatically enables the global branch.
Caller no longer needs to do so.
4) policydb_write uses the policy_type and policyvers from the
policydb itself, and sepol_set_policyvers() has been removed.

Argh. Adding these files to CVS would help I suppose...

I think so, yes -- steved (on Cc) can tell us more about this.

gss authentication isn't supported in s-c-nfs yet, but I'll be working
on it.

Loopback fails to load revisited
by RaXeT
What needs to be done to repair a broken loopback process?
I made a custom kernel as 2.6.13-1.1600_FC5 (done this since August).
I rebooted, and now can't get past this:
"Bringing up loopback" message.
I can rmmod loop and again modprobe loop, but lsmod doesn't show loop?
I'm able to do Interactive startup and skip the Network initialization and
even
roll the more new kernel 1601.
I can term the session at any time and cleanly shutdown/reboot.
Any ideas what I need to do to restore a this non functioning loopback
process?
Thanks in advance,
RaXeT

Something wrong with udev
by Szabo Akos
Hi,
Something strange happened with udev. It those not start clearly, when the
system comes up. I use nss_ldap for user, and group authentication, and
the ldap server is running an other machine. If I uninstall nss_ldap,
everything comes ok.
I try to disable ldap auth when shut down the system, and enable it when
the system boot /via system-auth file in the pam.d/, but it does not help,
only if i remove nss_ldap package.
If I restart the udevd, when the system comes up, everything seems to be
good.
The versions:
ldap: openldap-2.2.28-2
nss_ldap: nss_ldap-243-1
udev: udev-069-7
Any suggestions are welcome, and sorry for the bad English.

I thought I had a misconfiguration when I was seeing this.
I'd also like to get pam_smbpass into system_config_authentication, and
just filed an RFE Bugzilla for it. Rather than customize SCA for each new
PAM module, perhaps it should have some separate config where one can list
the available modules. I just found a module from Microsoft for sending
password changes to Win32 systems. (With source!) I wrapped it in an RPM
and will be testing it shortly.
