There has been some discussion about moving the #systemroles IRC channel to libera.chat. I think it is a good idea. Does anyone have an objection?

+1 - Pretty much all the other communities I'm involved in are moving to libera.chat already with the plan to bridge to matrix once that functionality is available (which there are claims it is actively being worked on).

OK. I suggest everyone go to https://libera.chat/guides/registration and follow the instructions, especially if you want to make sure a particular nick is available. NOTE: It seems to take several hours (or more?) to receive the registration email - I still have not received mine - so I have not created the #systemroles channel yet.

The channel was created (Thanks to whoever did this!) I've updated the topic in the freenode channel to point to irc.libera.chat #systemroles I had to use my personal email account to register.

That was me! :)
I registered all the channels for communities I'm involved in that hadn't been registered yet and have been turning ownership and ops over to the respective community members who had such privs on freenode. I just happened to be first to grab #systemroles so I snagged it and turned magical powers over to tyll. I figured *just* in case the choice was made to move there, I didn't want any of my favorite communities to lose out on a land grab. :)
See y'all on libera.chat!

Thanks all, I'm in! Rich, do you want to ask Tyll to grant you and Brian Smith OPS?
