Hi Folks,
I would like to join the Sway SIG if possible.
My name is Stefano and my FAS is "returntrip", I am a Fedora Silverblue user and I have been using Fedora on and off since around 2005.
I have recently packaged Alacritty (the Fedora 32 package is already in the repos while the F33 package is currently in bodhi). I have also provided a couple of PRs to Sway related projects here and there.
I will not hide that I am quite green when it comes to packaging but I hope to contribute as best as I can.
If you are interested, I have just created a Matrix "Fedora Sway" room, maybe we can chat there.

Thanks, Stefano FAS: returntrip
Hi Stefano,
Welcome to the SIG, happy to have you!
I've added you to the mailing lists, the wiki page, and the FAS group.
Kind regards, Till

Welcome to the SIG, Stefano. And thanks a lot for packaging alacritty. It had some very long list of rust dependencies last time I checked.

That actually makes me curious: are you using sway on Silverblue? Is it layered packages or custom ostree tree?
Something like Kinoite[1] but with sway and minimal set of packages would be a good idea for Sway spin. Although we haven't even started working on a classic Fedora one.

Oh. I actually considered creating an IRC channel since things are quite quiet in this SIG. Do you think it's possible to bridge the matrix room to freenode?

Thanks Aleksei!
I am currently layering sway (and some other stuff) but I would like to create my own sway ostree tree. A couple of month ago I created a test tree and it was not too difficult to compose.
Please do create the IRC channel, we can then ask "jwflory" (he helped me bridging the Silverblue room) to bridge the two rooms.
Kind Regards, Stefano

Hi all,
Stefano has configured a bridge to IRC and now we have a rather empty channel #fedora-sway@freenode linked to the matrix room. SIG members or users are welcome to join.
