GSoC Introduction
by Mateus Andrade
Hello,
I am Mateus, software engineering student from University of Brasília. I
will apply for Google Summer of Code in Fedora Project for the static DB
analysis proposal. I am a enthusiast of free software since my 16 years,
before to enter in college. For some reasons I didn't contribute to much
for free software projects and I see in GSoC a opportunity to start do it
with a big project like Fedora, I chose Fedora because I admire too much
the project and your maintainers and developers.
I want to apply for this proposal because I have some experience with
continuous secure development and static analysis, I worked with a tool
(not open) that have similarities with the Static analysis DB idea, and I
am very familiarized with parse of output of other tools with Python. Now I
am intern in a company that works with wire data analytics and I work in a
core of this application parsing and extracting some information for the
network packet.
Also I am programming contest enthusiast and I am participating of various
contests since 2014, inclusive the ACM-ICPC regionals. Currently my
interests is secure development, distributed systems and information
security. I am very excited to apply and know more the community.
Regards,
Mateus Andrade.

Hello :-)
by Aswin Babu Karuvally
Hello friends,
I am Aswin. I am hoping to participate for Google Summer of Code.
I am really interested in migrating Plinth to Fedora. This project
really interests me,
as it will involve lot of tinkering with Linux, terminal and most
importantly my beloved
Raspberry Pi. Even if I don't make it to GSoC, I am not going to leave
you guys as I am very
eager to contribute to Linux. I also do a bit of blogging at
http://karuvally.github.io and
some random scripts in http://github.com/karuvally
Regards,
Aswin

!! Application Requirements Update - Action Required
by Brian Exelbierd
Attention Students,
I've received some updated information from Google and this had slightly
modified your application requirements.
Specifically, you **MUST** submit a PDF with your application. The PDF
should consist of the information from the supplemental application
requirements[0]. It should also contain any custom project you are
proposing, if any.
We are not allowed to consider students who do not submit this PDF. If
you have a problem getting the PDF submitted please contact Google and
CC me directly. It is expected that you can submit the PDF.
Students will not be judged on the visual layout of their PDF, however
all information must be readable. It is acceptable for you to submit PDF
printouts from the wiki.
I am sorry for this late change. I encourage you to do this as soon as
possible because applications are due soon.
I will update the wiki to reflect these requirements when I am next
at my desk.
Thank you for your interest and understanding.
Regards,
bex
