Fedora Packaging Information | Ruby gems
by Sarup Banskota
Hi all,
I was asked if the Ruby gems I plan to use are packaged for Fedora.
Since the project (Glitter Gallery a.k.a Design Hub) isn't mature as of
now, and already uses some gems that aren't already packaged, is that an
important problem?
I've found this tool[1] <http://www.isitfedoraruby.com/> to be a valuable
resource to find out if it is packaged already, but I am not sure what to
do if it isn't. And if a gem isn't packaged, is that a lot of trouble?
I would love any help :)
Thank you,
Sarup Banskota

Good to see your interest.
BTW make sure you contact the mentors and submit the applications as noted
in

Student Application Submission - Doubts ?
by Buddhike Kurera
Hi Students,
Please feel free to write to me if there is anything unclear in Application
Process.
Please follow the steps in
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/GSOC_2013/Student_Application_Process
You need to create your application on Fedora Wiki, later you will be given
a link to put your project proposal. Do not worry about the project
proposal until you submit documents. Once you submit said documents you
will get a link to put your proposal in fedora wiki.
Please copy the content from the template and paste them to your
application and answer them and save the page. That is all about
your application.
We ask you to mail your CV because we think it is not good to leave private
information on the web so that all can see it. But if you are comfortable
with it you can make available on the wiki and send us the link.
Please read the FAQ for more info.
If anything is not clear please do write me directly.
Good Luck with Summer Coding !!

Hi
Just simply copy the content from the template and paste it to your wiki
page, then answer the questions and save it. No two pages needed.

I would love to discuss the details with you ... but for now I would really
like to get links to some documentations regarding how the bindings are
being implemented, that would really help me to get familiarize with the
code base.

GSOC 2013 Application Process - Fedora Requirement
by Buddhike Kurera
Dear Students,
In 8 hours time Google will open Student Application submission.
Apart from the application that students submit to Google, they need to
follow the application process set by The Fedora Project.
This year application process is different from the last year adding more
requirements that student should fulfill.
Please find the GSOC 2013 Application Process for Fedora Project at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/GSOC_2013#Student.27s_application
Feel free to contact me if there is any issue or need a clarification.
Wishing you Happy Summer Coding .....
