well at the moment you cannot use sssd with the sernet packages, so it is really your only option if you want to use sssd.Not exactly. One can stay with ubuntu's own packages, they are on version 1.8.6-0ubuntu0.3 by now. I was looking for a way to use sssd > 1.10 without sources, but...
