I think what it meant to say was that the way to configure LDAP failover
is to specify multiple URIs in a single ldap_uri parameter, not multiple
ldap_uri parameters. We will be able to detect configuration errors such
as this one when a configuration validator is available, until that
time, we just silently use the last ldap_uri entry.
I think that's covered ok in the actual description of how to use
multiple URIs for failover (which I'll include below). I just wasn't
sure about the "throw an error" part.
" Do not use multiple ldap_uri parameters to specify your failover
servers. The failover servers must be entered as a comma-separated list
of values for a single ldap_uri parameter. If you enter multiple
ldap_uri parameters, SSSD only recognizes the last entry.
Future versions of SSSD will throw an error upon receiving additional
ldap_uri entries. "
This is part of the "Configuring Failover" section mentioned in the
original email.
