It's intention is to fix https://fedorahosted.org/sssd/ticket/3118 / https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1367802 without introducing a new patch. As a side-effect the issue with missing overriden names from group members is fixed as well. But since the patches touches various parts of the group lookup code it should be carefully tested for regressions.
