I am working on getting the Games Spin back for F11. It appears to have been an aborted feature in F10 and I am not sure what all needs to be done with the various processes. I have updated the feature page and have passed it to the Feature Wrangler for feedback. It appears that the Spins SIG should be involved here, but I am not sure what still needs to be done and when it needs to be done. If there are things you need from me please let me know.
I expect to have stuff ready for wider testing in a couple weeks and advice on what to do when I get to that point is appreciated.
I was looking at CommunitySpinGuidelines for Live Spins and saw the part 8192 recommendation for DVDs. I don't think that is going to work for the games spin (8000 was too small and I have been using 10000 for my testing). My understanding is that is a before compression size and so depending on well things compress, 8GB could potentially compress to significantly smaller than 4GB. Is it a big deal to use a somewhat larger value there?
And as a heads up, I am also working on getting livecd-tools to build isos using udf so that the compressed file system can be over 4GB. That will add about 300 MB to the maximum size while still fitting on a DVD. See bug 476696 if you are intested. The Games Spin compressed file system is just under 4GiB as built by my tests on F10. I would like to have the ability to go a little higher in case some change impacts the size shortly before release.

No.
Please add a comment on the bigger size in the kickstart.

You're doing an awesome job. How about you request GIT commit access and become the maintainer of the kickstart?

Should we go back and review the SIG process on more time before we get too far down the road of F11?

Where do I make the request. Who vouches for me? I am not a packager yet, just CLA signed.
Is there documentation for how different branches of fedora are handled in the git repository?

I (the Feature Wrangler) am just as unsure what the process is as you are.
The question about what the next steps are and when we are going to set a final spins process has been raised a few times since a group met over the phone in October. To my knowledge nothing has happened since.
Who is the accountable party and what is the deadline for finalizing the spins process? It needs to be finalized ASAP if we want to have a smooth process for Fedora 11.

I'm training RHCE candidates until 17:00 UTC. Does that work for you?

I could d0 17:00 UTC if that works for you. It will be quick meeting, so it may be a low turn out but it might be good to have it and flush out the final process.

I have some interest in observing if that isn't a problem. Is this going to be in #fedora-meeting ?

I'm sorry I didn't make this meeting - I was preoccupied with a break-in at the office and recovering from stuff that was stolen. As such, I forgot all about being in the right place at the right time, for which I apologize.
I hope we can meet soon, preferably in real life (at FUDCon F11?) where I have a BarCamp session planned on the subject of spins.
Kind regards,

It would be nice to get some guidance for the games spin which was an aborted feature in F10. I have another week off which I can use to get more stuff done than I normally can. If the policy is decided right before the deadlines, I might not be able to complete whatever is needed in time. That still wouldn't be a distaster as the kickstart file already is in spins-kickstart package so people could make their own pretty easily, even if it doesn't make it as a feature. But having the high profile exposure of an official spin would be nice for promoting Fedora.
P.S. I missed observing the meeting because I was thinking we were still at the dalight savings time offset from UTC and checked for the meeting an hour late.
