SOAS switched away from fedora-live-mini.ks to fedora-live-base.ks last year. Nothing else in git uses it. Should we drop it from the repo to avoid confusion?

Sounds good to me.
Additionally, should we continue to ship cd and non cd versions for desktop, kde, mate ? Perhaps we should remove the ones we don't actually use to compose with to avoid confusion?

Personally (speaking with kde spin maintainer hat on), I would like to continue shipping kickstarts for a cd-sized spin. We advertised that we would make it available for anyone still wanting it after switching to a larger size for the official shipped image. (yes, it needs more love)

The plan was to switch back to it once I had time to fix it but I've got no problems with it being dropped.
Ultimately I'd like to have a "minimal install" kick start which base then includes to get to the base we have today ie basically the base building block for all kick starts is a minimal text only install.

Can we do that after beta is gold?

Sure - I was mainly thinking on master, but we can pull it back after beta.
