spin-kickstart versioning
by Dennis Gilmore
hi all,
i would like to propose that we change the versioning of spin-kickstarts, for
instance the version in f22 would always be 22 then use the rpm release field
0.X for prerelease builds and whole numbers for GA builds so the build just
done for f22 GA would have been spin-kickstarts-22-1.fc22 anyone have any
strong thoughts?

Problem with KDE spin
by David Both
Sendmail failed to start. Tracking this down led to the /etc/alternatives links
for mta, mta-mailq, and mta-mailqman pointing to executables for sSMTP instead
of sendmail. Also, the sendmail unit was disabled and it was enabled poreviously.
The following messages are generated:

This is NOT an email server. It is a workstation on which I use sendmail to
define a smarthost. This enables cron output and other system emails to be sent
to a central non-root address. Changing the links in the alternatives directory
to point back to sendmail executables resolved this problem. So it appears that
the startup command for sSMTP is incorrect.
<rant>
The other problem, in my opinion, is the assumption by the spin developers that
I want to make that switch. I like sendmail for all of these purposes and have
no desire to use sSMTP at this time. I would have preferred a notification that
sSMTP is available as an alternative with instructions on how to make the
change. It would also have been nice if the change had been tested sufficiently
to at least not cause problem I encountered.
I would really rather install from the KDE spin, but I cannot if it causes this
type of issue. And although the spins are not responsible for the crappy new
very limnited installation options available for Fedora 21, that is the root
cause of this. I would normally install from a regular installation DVD and
choose KDE for the desktop. I cannot do that now, I can only install from a live
image which provides no options to speak of.
Thanks!

[spin-kickstarts/f22] docker: Use bootloader --none to work around Anaconda regression
by Colin Walters
commit 6ef2d02a301906445a2183ccd58a6350ffe64467

docker: Use bootloader --none to work around Anaconda regression
We were getting grub2 in the base image again. Apparently
for a while Anaconda has supported a cleaner syntax for this, and
since it fixes the bug, let's use it.
