Let’s discuss it on our next meeting.
And of course, any comment here on our mailing list is welcome!

It would probably be worthwhile engaging with the arm SIG or at least copy their mailing list in, they could probably provide valuable input
Also sometimes worthwhile including the full text in a mailing list post, it may make it easier to comment on specific pieces and will be around for future reference.

Yes,certainly not only probably. That’s the plan as soon as we have put our ideas together in a comprehensible way, at least roughly. We could really use some advice on even fairly simple things, such as suggestions on which models we should additionally check. At the moment everything is very Rockchip 3399 driven.
Also sometimes worthwhile including the full text in a mailing list post, it may make it easier to comment on specific pieces and will be around for future reference.
I am hesitant to post such large amounts of text on the mailing list. But it is currently probably the most efficient way to invite comments, indeed.

The number of comments from our working group on the hacked.io text are not necessarily overwhelming so far. I took this as an hint, that the text was not clear enough about what tasks to work on for our project. I have now written a new project plan and put it in our repo: https://pagure.io/fedora-server/issue/108. And I have deleted the hackmd.io text.
Folks, it would be really helpful if everyone could read and think about the text between now and our meeting on Wednesday and maybe post their thoughts, so we can clarify a few pending items:: * For reference list: - What other SBC equipment do we have available - Discussion of the criteria
* Evaluation study - Discussion of the content plan - Who can contribute to which section
We should aim to spend no more than 25 minutes on this item at the meeting. But we need to get off the ground. The next release always comes so unexpectedly suddenly.
Happy reading (and thinking and checking)
Peter

I have a R Pi 4. I can volunteer documenting use cases as backup server and work as a pair with anyone in server group.

Given that a backup server is a project I'm working on right now, I will happily help you out.
Emmanuel
Back server was my first Pi project, so I'm keen to expand the use case. I could work on a different project.

Hey Hank, welcome to Server Team. And thanks for the offer. If I remember correctly, we have a Pi3 in the Server WG, but no Pi4. And the Pi 4, while IMHO not particularly suitable as a server, is the reference device in the device class.

I've found my Raspberry Pi 400 (Basically a Pi 4 with built-on keyboard) to be an excellent light-duty server, honestly. FWIW, I just stuck Fedora IoT on it and I have it running as a tang server for network-bound disk encryption as well as an OctoPrint server for 3D printing.
Seems like a lot of us use Pi's. I have 1 that runs my GitLab and another 1 is my util server. I just grabbed a pi 4 4g and currently deciding on its use.
Thanks, Jason

Hi all,
I am currently working on the cluster setup, in my freetime, for https://beby.cloud/ https://beby.cloud/en/, a RPi4-CM based, modular network computer.
The idea is, that k8s/k3s/k0s will be first-class citizens on the same. Even if an immutable OS seems preferable, I would rate compatibility and integration way higher.
Fedora Server SBC might be a good option. Test Hardware for my personal use is available, too.
Best, Daniel

FTR, I have:
* a RPi 3 * an ODROID-C2 * a Khadas Vim 1
I am waiting for:
* a Khadas Vim 3L * a Clockwork DevTerm
I was convinced that I could not install Fedora on the 3 SBC I have but have learnt you can install Fedora on the Vim.
Emmanuel
I have 4 odroid-n2 sbc(s), They are are all 4GB machines with various amounts on on-board (eMMC storage) and external storage (via either sata or usb).
I run dns/dhcp/postfix/dovecot/postgresql/apache on them.
Unfortunately, I have to run either Ubuntu or Android as an O/S as they require some non-foss kernel modules.
On the odroid-n2 forum/wiki pages, there are references to a few people who have successfully loaded Fedora on them, but detailed instructions on how to accomplish this are not forthcoming.
They are quite capable as a home office or small-business servers. They also support accelerated graphics are are quite capable desktops.
Peter Robinson reports that the vendor (hardkernel) is not very responsive to efforts to get hardkernel to open-source the proprietary modules.
Hardkernel has recently released several follow-up SBC's that are enhancements to the basic odroid-n2.
I just wish we could somehow convince them to open-source their modules or if we could develop detailed instructions on how to migrate from Ubuntu to Fedora.
