I've taken a look at a few vendors and isloated a few boards that look
interesting. Here's the list:
Khadas' Vim3 and Vim4 are relativly powerful, allow installation of
Fedora and have an M.2 slot for additional storage.
Banana Pi has a whole host of boards that have M.2 or PCIe slots:
* Banana Pi BPI-M1 (SATA)
* Banana Pi BPI-M2
* Banana Pi BPI-M4
* Banana Pi BPI-F2
* Banana Pi BPI-R1
* Banana Pi BPI-R2
* Banana Pi BPI-R64
* Banana Pi BPI-W2
* Banana Pi Pro
But most of them are not really „stackable“ and of limited capacity (power, RAM). And I
remember most of them are not supported by Fedora.
Pine64 has the ROCKPro64 board.
That’s one of my boards. Works fine, but from a designers perspective … (no way to compare
with kobol)
Sadly, a number of Open Source projects that I was following a while back
and would have been of interest to the SIG have halted due to inflation
or supply shortages:
Yes, one of those is the Libre Computer line of boards (eg
https://libre.computer/products/roc-rk3399-pc/) There a at least 3 different makers that
produce a board, but none has a complete line of products available.
That’s really an issue.
I just got a Vim3 board and was planning to install Fedora on it to
use
it as a backup server but I've now ordered an Asustor Flashstor 6 and
will be using Fedora Server on that instead
Yes, these a fine boards. And many of them are supported by Fedora.
Best
Peter
