What's the purpose with this effort and process then if there will be no
change other then giving people the fake notion that they matter and
this actually will change anything ?
I totally fail to understand what you mean here.
The purpose of this effort is to make sure packages do work properly in
a server environment. In some cases it may mean having to compromise
with other products so that a package works properly for all products or
is built in a way that allows different configurations/plugins to be
loaded based on what product it is being installed on.
Why dont those that are going to be writing those tools simply do
that,
package it be done with this.
Because in order to build a coherent story you need some direction,
otherwise nobody will have any idea what is the goal and what helps
rather than hinder that goal.
What's the purpose of wasting people time with a process
that's trying
to be something it's not?
I guess that in order to determine if people's time is being wasted you
first need to define what is the process, and what is the goal and what
are the expectations, then check if they all match up or not.
It seem you have your own idea of what the process should be but you are
not helping me understand what your idea is.
It is also a bit discomforting that if your interpretation of what
others says does not meet your personal idea then you write it off as a
waste or useless, without even taking the chance to see if you really
understood what was being said or proposed.
I think we have established that we have a terminology and communication
problem already, let's please not take things at face value but explore
them a little bit before writing them off as a waste.
