At first glance, it doesn't seem that elaborate. If I remember correctly,
there is some interest in getting into the technical details. Maybe someone
can be found for an update.
It's not that elaborate as there really isn't that much about it.
Cockpit's starter-kit [1] has the AppStream data bits. In particular, you need
a metainfo file [2] and let the packaging drop that into /usr/share/metainfo/.
starter-kit still does i18n in between [3], but that's just a glorified `cp`.
Honestly, i18n is a bit of a lost cause in file-sharing (and would need a lot
of work), so I suggest to just ignore that bit for now.
As a bonus, the RPM packaging (or some upstream CI) should make sure that the
file is valid [4].
