Contribute to Fedoraproject
by Fredrik Arneving
Hi,
I'm writing to this list because I was browsing the Fedora site and looking
for ways to contribute. I'm currently working full time as Red Hat Linux
Consultant. Though I'm also interested in ansible, virtualization and
cloud I have found that I prefer to work with pure system
administration. The perfect thing for me to help the Fedora communtity
would be something that helps me build a broader picture of the
operating system as a whole. I have not a programming background so pure
coding is not for me. I was thinking in terms of SELinux or systemd but
it could be something completely different. Whatever it may eventually
be I guess I would follow this path:
1) Get some pointers from you guys and start with some heavy reading
2) Getting access to some bug or incident system or maybe a list of
"request for enhancement/feature" and start there with some supervision.
3) Learn how to test, debug and package whatever I can produce.
What do you think? Is the Server project a good place for me to start or could
you think of a better project for me?
Regards,
