[F24 Criteria Change] Cockpit Release Criteria
by Stephen Gallagher

Recently, we discovered a bug in gnutls that caused Cockpit to be
unreachable by recent versions of Google Chrome. It was ambiguous what
the release criteria actually means, since it didn't specify which
browser applications were blocking. I'd like to propose the following
additional wording for Cockpit criteria:
* All Cockpit functional criteria must be satisfied when the user is
running any of the following blocking browsers:
- Mozilla Firefox as shipped in the same Fedora release
- Mozilla Firefox of the latest available version on Windows at
compose time.
- Mozilla Firefox of the latest available version on OSX at compose
time.
- Google Chrome of the latest available version on Fedora at compose
time.
- Google Chrome of the latest available version on Windows at compose
time.
- Google Chrome of the latest available version on OSX at compose time.
Alternately, we could decide that it's only *blocking* if the above
browsers work with Cockpit when the browser is running on Fedora, but
that is somewhat at odds with our reasoning for having a management
console as a web UI in the first place: that it is accessible
regardless of the client system.
Comments welcome, but please keep replies on the
test(a)lists.fedoraproject.org list, as that's where criteria decisions
are made.

Soliciting Items for Server SIG Meeting Agenda (2015-10-27)
by Stephen Gallagher
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
OK, so it looks like the meeting was not held in my absence last week,
so we should at least cover the two agenda items we missed.
* We have two candidates for Server WG seats, Major Hayden and Jon
Stanley. We should vote on their admission to the team. As we have two
open seats, I'm firmly +1 for both of them.
* Server/Cloud interaction. It has been suggested that the Fedora
Server should become the "standard" Fedora image in public clouds,
replacing the old Cloud image. This is because the Cloud SIG is moving
towards focusing on Atomic, but it would be good to have something
more traditional available as well for people to play with. This
really needs an owner who isn't me...
Assuming that the WG votes in Major and Jon, I'd like to reserve some
time for them to pitch us their ideas for Fedora 24. Nothing like
fresh blood to reinvigorate us! </romanian accent>

f23 final release annoucement
by Matthew Miller
See
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F23_Final_release_announcement#Fedora_Server
I'd like the annoucement to be mainly targeted at new or casual users.
Details and tech stuff should go into the release notes. Here, for each
of the editions, I think we want just
- the quick elevator pitch ("Deploy complex services with a click....")
- a one-liner describing the most exciting new things (new role?
anything else?)
- an action statement — "Get Fedora Server this morning and have
an identity management solution in place by lunchtime."
except, not necessarily those words. What words *should* I use?

Soliciting Items for Server SIG Meeting Agenda (2015-10-20)
by Stephen Gallagher
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I may not be able to attend tomorrow; I'll actually be on my way to my
old alma mater (RPI) to meet with some students in the Rensselaer
Center for Open Source. Depending on traffic, I may not arrive and
have internet access until after the meeting time. I'd like to request
that someone else start the meeting in that case, as we do have topics
that need discussing.
At minimum:
* We have two candidates for Server WG seats, Major Hayden and Jon
Stanley. We should vote on their admission to the team. As we have two
open seats, I'm firmly +1 for both of them.
