That was my hope as well (many potential platforms, but not that
name).
My suggestion would be to kill leave off the
acronym SCAP in favor of something generic or abstract. Like a
corporate charter, a descriptive name can later be found confining.
Those who know me are aware of my antipathy towards SCAP and its
satellite acronyms. I would likely try for a name that avoided the
unlucky letters A, C, P and S, and most importantly did not end with
the letter E, which would consign it to certain infamy.
Notably, the IETF SACM WG chose to forswear the use of the SCAP
acronym. Even then, I think some were subsequently uneasy with SACM,
particularly the M which proved provocative, though a renaming was
put off indefinitely and thus likely permanently. My contribution at
the time of uncertainty was to keep the acronym and change the
phrase to Sinister Alien Conformance Monitoring, so its always a
good idea to pick a name resistant to satire.
If all else is found wanting a glyph could be used.
