>From 3d314efb820638058f6eee354b829fb2e9dbd3d7 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Shawn Wells Date: Thu, 10 Jan 2013 07:39:42 -0500 Subject: [PATCH 04/20] Request for discussion: Removed AU-2 mappings from system/logging.xml Only the audit subsystem should be considered an authoritative source of audit information. Removing mappings of AU-2 to syslog services for this reason. Note this isn't to say setting up syslog isn't a good, prudent thing to do -- but should not be considered authoritative and thus should not be considered to meet AU-2* requirements. --- RHEL6/input/system/logging.xml | 14 +++++++------- 1 files changed, 7 insertions(+), 7 deletions(-) diff --git a/RHEL6/input/system/logging.xml b/RHEL6/input/system/logging.xml index f41ff5d..2697593 100644 --- a/RHEL6/input/system/logging.xml +++ b/RHEL6/input/system/logging.xml @@ -32,7 +32,7 @@ system logging services. - + @@ -262,7 +262,7 @@ place to view the status of multiple hosts within the enterprise. - + @@ -298,7 +298,7 @@ rsyslog by configuring it not to listen on the network. - + @@ -316,7 +316,7 @@ messages over a reliable TCP connection. - + @@ -335,7 +335,7 @@ this enables it to receive their messages as well. - + @@ -372,7 +372,7 @@ periodically in order to perform its log rotation function. that they fill up the /var/log partition.
