Another patch to get things working more smoothly on Ubuntu.

A symlink got created and linked against but not installed.

Please check and commit.

You can of course also drop linking against it in the first place if you prefer that approach more.

One problem that still exist is btw. the LIBDIR: /usr/lib64 isn't included in LD_PATH on Ubuntu. The best solution would be to use a configure script but I don't know if I will have time to do that. Maybe somebody wants to pick up that job?
