I know that both result to the same thing (if I remember correctly I had
asked Vit about this in IRC), but I have forgotten their real difference.
My attention got caught by a comment Josef made in one of his reviews
, saying that rubygem-foo is the new syntax. If that's the case, I
would like to propose 2 changes:
a) A reference in the wiki
b) An implementation for gem2rpm
I guess b) could be fairly easy by changing the templates.
By starting with these steps, there will be a push to use the new syntax
from now on. What do you think?

I don't know if this has been proposed before but have we offered to help ruby-core and the ruby community to work on "official" ruby rpms?
If we could drive what is in the official rpm, I'd imagine it would be less maintenance work to modify the upstream source for our own packages.
I am just letting you know I've fixed licences for the following packages:
rubygem-rack to MIT and (Ruby or BSD)
rubygem-rails-doc to MIT and (MIT or GPL+)
rubygem-railties to MIT
rubygem-thread_safe to ASL 2.0 and Public Domain
rubygem-erubis-doc to MIT and BSD
rubygem-i18n to MIT and (BSD or Ruby)
rubygem-jquery-rails to MIT
rubygem-diff-lcs to (GPLv2+ or Artistic or MIT) and (GPLv2+ or Artistic or Ruby or BSD) and (Artistic or Ruby or BSD)*
Thanks goes to Vit, who spotted them.
* Will do when I get commit rights.
