Hey guys.
Please remember to include in the Beta Freeze emails to
-devel-announce a section reminding people that that date also marks
the String Freeze for Fedora.
As a possible reference point, here's a past email of mine mentioning it:
http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-announce/2008-March/msg00010.ht…
Thanks.

Hey guys.
As you probably already know, the schedule has two important dates for
translations: the *translation deadline* and the devel freeze. The
first is the date that we guarantee that translations submitted so far
will end up in the release. A packager (who maintainers a package
translated by the FLP, such as anaconda, system-config-*, etc) needs
to re-package between the two dates for the guaranteed translations to
end up in F10.
Currently the F10 schedule has translation deadline the same day as
the development freeze (FLP didn't provide the necessary input to
RelEng in time to fix this). This means that packagers only have a few
hours to repacakge.
I sent an email to FLSCo and it voted in favor of moving the
translation deadline from 21/10 to 14/10, so that packagers have 1
week to repackage. One less week for translating, but substantially
higher chances of those translations ending up in the release. The
translation deadline is something that affects only translations, so I
think it can be moved it without affecting anyone but translators.
Awaiting for your OK before changing the schedule page, announcing on
fedora-trans-list, and -devel-list.

#805: ekiga-2.9.90 and opal 3.3.1 for F-10 beta
----------------------------+-----------------------------------------------

Ekiga 3 will be out before Fedora 10. I was working to get the beta (BZ
460888) into rawhide before the beta (was waiting of ptlib which hit
rawhide on the the 12th) but missed it by a day. It would be nice to get
it into the beta for further testing. It is completely standalone (doesn't
affect other packages) and pwlib is still in rawhide so its easy to untag
and roll back to previous version.

The ksirk package has been obsoleted by kdegames (>= 4.1.0) and marked
dead.package for a while, but somehow we forgot about getting it actually
blocked (probably my fault, I must have forgotten to request it).

Kernel improves things for intel users, we talked about it in the releng
meeting.
There is a anaconda build coming too that improves the Network
situation, david cantrell has done quite a bit of regression testing so
it should be OK.

Please tag pulseaudio-0.6.12-2.fc10 for F10 beta. It pulls in an upstream
fix for
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462407 which may badly affect
fresh installs.

This build adds missing dependency on echo-icon-theme package. -2.fc10 is
broken, since it requires (as a theme but not as a package) echo icons
that are not installed. It is desirable to have this fixed version in
beta.

I turned off the "feature" of mailman that would force replies to go to
this list. This was getting in the way of being able to do a
'reply-all' and have it cc the sender (important as many senders to this
list are not subscribed to the list).
