OK, I filed
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1385471
There's a mini-rant in the "Additional Info" section regarding RPATH,
as not setting that appropriately on the SCL Python runtime binaries
is causing the bulk of these dynamic linking problems, so if it was
set properly, the current issues would almost all just go away and you
wouldn't have to find and patch all the Python projects that assume
'sys.executable' can be used the same way it can upstream and then
hope that nobody does "pip install --upgrade" on a patched downstream
component :)
Thank you, I wasn't sure I would be able to formulate it as
clearly as
you could!
Yours aye,
Tomas
