Hi All, I'm trying to install on a p615 using a FC3 dev install disk I recently downloaded. At kernel load I get "Unrecoverable FP Unavailable Exception 800 at d00000000002ad28". Has anyone else seen this and/or know how to get around it?
Thanks, Niki

p615? This being an offering from IBM right?
I think this bug just got fixed a couple of days ago, and has been upstreamed as well, so while Fedora rolls a new kernel for you, you're going to have to wait...
There's a patch on the linuxppc64-dev lists if you're willing to roll your own installer...
Thanks Colin! I will wait for the fix.

Hi All, Just downloaded the latest Fedora dev (date Sept 27) and still get the "Unrecoverable FP Unavailable Exception 800 at d00000000002ad28". Any ideas?
Thanks, Niki

Kernel hasn't changed, so error is still there. I'm not sure how long the kernel freeze is going to last for... (or if it'll go on till FC3)
Why not roll your own kernel and get on that way?
Thanks Colin. I think I'll have to go with the new kernel at this point. This of course would imply using an older version install and getting it compatible, which I'm guessing might be hairy. Can anyone suggest a stable previous version to at least boot off of and a compatible kernel to go with?

Hi All, So I've gotten the latest core 3 boot.iso from 9/29 to load on my IBM p615. I get past my original "Unrecoverable FP Unavailable Exception" problem but in either graphical or text mode, the system just hangs, no error msg just blank screen. Anyone else see this and/or know what's going on?
Thanks, Niki
