Wow, this is the first really informative response that I have gotten
as per this issue on any PPC Linux list!!!!
Actually, my post didn't go to the list because its still awaiting
moderator approval because of a "suspicious header" although the
automated response didn't tell me which header was the problem. I've
sent other posts to fedora-ppc in the past and I don't think any of them
have gotten through becuase of this problem.
Please tell me, if I try to install Fedora Core 4 and do manual
partitioning for "sdb" SATA internal drive #2 on my G5 can I decide
which drive to install Fedora on? I just want to make sure that I
don't have to bail because I think Fedora is going to erase and
install on my OS X install drive "sda".
Unfortunately I can't help you there. All of our machines are linux/ppc
only, no Mac OS X. The only thing I can suggest is disconnecting the Mac
OS X drive to be safe during the install. If linux/ppc isn't booting
after installing on sdb, you might try switching the drive so linux/ppc
is sba and Mac OS X is sdb, since I think Mac OS X can handle booting as
the second drive if I recall correctly.
