With cpanspec 1.78, META.yml's "recommends" dependencies are treated as "requires" ones. That is way too harsh and easily requires many more package updates than ordinarily necessary. I imagine this is because the 'use' statement often has trailing arguments use Test::More tests => 19; instead of a more usual use Test::More; It'd be very helpful if cpanspec picked up this style, because then nearly all its autogenerated specs would be correct. Shouldn't it use %{optflags} instead? In particular, one of the fuse modules I was compiling had some example perl scripts which began with the line "#/usr/bin/perl." This caused the build to then require "/usr/bin/perl" which I wanted to eliminate.
