Summary: Extra provides need trimming
Product: Fedora EPEL
Version: el5
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: medium
Priority: low
Component: perl-SOAP-Lite
AssignedTo: mmcgrath(a)redhat.com
ReportedBy: linux(a)cmadams.net
QAContact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: fedora-perl-devel-list(a)redhat.com, mmcgrath(a)redhat.com
Classification: Fedora
The current EPEL perl-SOAP-Lite package filters out several provides, but
perl(LWP::Protocol) is still in there which conflicts with perl-libwww-perl
from RHEL (and since yum chooses the shortest package name, perl-SOAP-Lite
"wins" when LWP::Protocol is required somewhere).

The spec file doesn't give versions for some requirements, this tightens it up:

I am looking at getting Xfce in EPEL, and xfconf needs this package
(which in turn needs perl-ExtUtils-Depends which I have also asked to be
branched).
If you make the minor change to perl BuildRequires here the package builds fine
on EL-5,
however, it seems to fail it's %tests:
...
t/64bit....................GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_param_spec_int64:
assertion `default_value >= minimum && default_value <= maximum' failed at
t/64bit.t line 20.
# Failed test 'The object isa Glib::Param::Int64'
# in t/64bit.t at line 24.
# The object isn't defined
Can't call method "get_minimum" on an undefined value at t/64bit.t line 25.
# Looks like you planned 12 tests but only ran 1.
# Looks like you failed 1 test of 1 run.
# Looks like your test died just after 1.
dubious
Test returned status 255 (wstat 65280, 0xff00)
DIED. FAILED tests 1-12
Failed 12/12 tests, 0.00% okay
(note this is on a 32bit build). Perhaps something with RHEL's perl ?
I'd be happy to help maintain for EPEL-5.
thanks

[Bug 427049] New: broken spec
by Red Hat Bugzilla
Please do not reply directly to this email. All additional
comments should be made in the comments box of this bug report.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=427049
Summary: broken spec
Product: Fedora
Version: 8
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: low
Priority: low
Component: perl-Class-Std
AssignedTo: andreas(a)bawue.net
ReportedBy: rc040203(a)freenet.de
QAContact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: fedora-perl-devel-list(a)redhat.com
Description of problem:
Package doesn't build, because the perl-package split has not been reflected to it.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
perl-Class-Std-0_0_8-1*
How to reproduce:
check out from CVS
make mockbuild
Additional info:
I would have fixed this bug in CVS, but you have restrictive ACLs
set on this package.
