Well, the approach I posted was what happens *with* pre-transaction
syscalls, as they were implemented by Jeff. What needs to happen is
that the pre-transaction stuff needs to run before the transaction
is even computed, which makes it messy.
Not "pre transaction", but "pre everything" indeed. He mentioned that
the idea was to fix exactly this scenario (from what I understood), but
I didn't catch the details.
Anyway, "not anytime soon" still stands, and even includes "never"
;-)
