spec-cleaner from openSUSE
by Miro Hrončok
Hi,
I've just found this tool form openSUSE called spec-cleaner. It seems
usable in Fedora as well, it would require only to change some data in
text files.
https://github.com/openSUSE/spec-cleaner
If we provide our own data, it might be a very useful tool for Fedora
packages.
I would like to package it, but I don't feel like gathering those data
on my own. See:
https://github.com/openSUSE/spec-cleaner/tree/master/data
I cannot tell how much different this would be anyway.
Is anyone willing to look at this with me?

Requires: kmod(some_module)
by lejeczek
hi everybody
newbie question on spec file subject, file that contains:
Requires: kmod(some_module)
it rpmbuilds fine but later when attempt to install the
package yum fails with:
...
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Package: some_package
Requires: kmod(some_module.ko)
...
And module in question naturally is installed.
I'm missing something silly, what is it?
many thanks

discussion on Fedora Council Engineering representative
by Matthew Miller
Spamming many lists to make sure this doesn't go unnoticed. (In case my
accidentally posting to both devel and devel-announce separately doesn't do
it.)
Please see the thread titled "Engineering Representiatve for the new Fedora
Council" on the devel list — this affects and should have the input of
everyone involved in the broad category of "building and shipping the
distro" efforts in Fedora. Thanks!

Wrong package name
by Fabian Affolter
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi all,
Recently I created a package python-aiohttp and this package was
approved, imported, and built. But I made a mistake and took the wrong
name for the package.
The package runs only with Python 3. As pointed out in the review
request [1] the correct name should be python3-aiohttp.
Do I need to open a rename request to fix that?
Kind regards,
Fabian
