Tomcat can use the Apache Portable Runtime to provide superior
scalability, performance, and better integration with native server
technologies. The Apache Portable Runtime is a highly portable library
that is at the heart of Apache HTTP Server 2.x. APR has many uses,
including access to advanced IO functionality (such as sendfile, epoll
and OpenSSL), OS level functionality (random number generation, system
status, etc), and native process handling (shared memory, NT pipes and
Unix sockets). This package contains the Tomcat native library which
provides support for using APR in Tomcat.
rpmlint:
W: tomcat-native devel-file-in-non-devel-package /usr/lib64/libtcnative-1.so
Due to how Tomcat/Java loads the lib, unversioned *.so is needed.

rpmlint says:
W: mondo invalid-license GPL
E: mondo non-utf8-spec-file mondo.spec
W: mondo macro-in-%changelog attr
W: mondo macro-in-%changelog done
W: mondo macro-in-%changelog d
Please change license to GPLv2 or GPLv2+ .
Convert your spec file to UTF-8.
Remove macros (%attr, %done, %d) from changelog entries, you can remove the "%"
sign and leave only the "attr macro" string.
Your localized summary lines are too loing. They can be only 80 characters long.
The ".fc7" tag is hardcoded into spec file. Please change it to "%{?dist}".
Update changelog entries to more Fedora notation. Change this:
* Fri Jul 06 2007 Bruno Cornec <bruno(a)mondorescue.org> 2.2.4-1.fc7
to:
* Fri Jul 06 2007 Bruno Cornec <bruno(a)mondorescue.org> - 2.2.4-1.fc7
("-" sign has been added)
I think your changelog is too long and may be reduced.
I think svn.log is not needed in package documentation, ChangeLog is enough.

[Bug 181997] Review Request: gpc - The GNU Pascal compiler

OK, here's an update which solves the build ID issue by including a patch from
Fedora's gcc which tells the front ends to pass --build-id to the linker by default.
Also, I removed the build dependency on texinfo, as this simply regenerates the
info files and brings back all of the file-not-utf8 complaints from rpmlint.
So the only remaining issue is PPC. I did some more poking and I understand why
the compiler fails to build things (it neglects to pick up the proper paths for
crtbegin.o and libgcc.a in the arguments passed to the linker) but I still don't
understand why this works on even PPC64 yet fails on PPC32. I have one more
idea to try, however.
I also want to see if Jakub will have a quick look over this package. I know he
doesn't want to incorporate GPC into the main GCC package, and I think that
would be a bad idea as long as GPC development continues to lag GCC development.
But the "build gcc&gpc and then delete the gcc bits" approach seems to be the
only alternative, even though it's not very pretty.

Description:
POCO, the C++ Portable Components, is a collection of open source C++ class
libraries that simplify and accelerate the development of network-centric,
portable applications in C++. The libraries integrate perfectly with the C++
Standard Library and fill many of the functional gaps left open by it. Their
modular and efficient design and implementation makes the C++ Portable Components
extremely well suited for embedded development, an area where the C++ programming
language is becoming increasingly popular, due to its suitability for both
low-level (device I/O, interrupt handlers, etc.) and high-level object-oriented
development. Of course, POCO is also ready for enterprise-level challenges.
This is my first i package and I need a sponsor :-)
(PS: Sorry for the download location but my personal web server is under maintnance, for now :-) )

[Bug 234612] New: Review Request: Ice - The Internet Communications Engine (Object middleware)

ReportedBy: mefoster(a)gmail.com

This is my first package, and I'm looking for a sponsor.
There are three SRPMS, because there are two noarch packages. These specs are mainly based on the upstream SRPM at http://www.zeroc.com/download/Ice/3.2/ice-3.2.0-1.src.rpm but I've tried to modify them so that they meet the Fedora packaging guidelines.
Some things to note:
- There are three SRPMs because, although most of the packages are arch-specific, there are also two noarch packages which I've packaged separately.
- The two noarch packages need pieces of various arch-specific packages to build properly. In the current version, they both build private versions of the executables they need. For Java, it could have been done with a BuildRequires on ice-java-devel = %{version}; for dotnet, I don't think it could have gone any other way: ice-dotnet BuildRequires ice-csharp-devel, but -- because of the pkgconfig files -- ice-csharp-devel Requires ice-dotnet.
- I've followed the naming convention used by upstream, but I'm open to changing it.
- The Java stuff can be compiled with Java 1.5, but I'm ignoring that because there's no free 1.5 JVM (yet?). Also, there's a quite useful admin tool written in Java that uses jgoodies, which doesn't seem to be packaged for Fedora (again, yet?).
- The documentation and descriptions are lacking, I know, but I wanted advice on packaging technique so I'm submitting these for review now.
Main package (all arch-specific pieces):

SRPM URL: http://www6.informatik.tu-muenchen.de/~foster/extras/ice/ice-3.2.0-1.src.rpm
Description:
Ice is a modern alternative to object middleware such as CORBA or
COM/DCOM/COM+. It is easy to learn, yet provides a powerful network
infrastructure for demanding technical applications. It features an
object-oriented specification language, easy to use C++, C#, Java,
Python, Ruby, PHP, and Visual Basic mappings, a highly efficient
protocol, asynchronous method invocation and dispatch, dynamic
transport plug-ins, TCP/IP and UDP/IP support, SSL-based security, a
firewall solution, and much more.

------- Additional Comments From tibbs(a)math.uh.edu 2007-09-05 11:20 EST -------
A new snapshot came out yesterday; I've updated the packages. I also did the
cleanups you suggested except for adding
# The compiler chokes on "-mtune=generic" further on.
which I'm afraid I don't understand; the compiler doesn't choke on any platform
I have access to.
Remaining issues that I know of:
The compiler builds two pascal executables, gpidump and binobj, which really
tick off find-debuginfo and cause it to fail the build. I have removed these
from the package but they are mentioned in the documentation and so it would be
nice to package them. I'm concerned that since this is built from pristine gcc
sources, it will need additional Fedora patches applied to generate build IDs.
A koji scratch build succeeds on all supported platforms, but the ppc compiler
is nonfunctional. The ppc64 compiler is fine. I am completely baffled.
