Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2020-aabc27461b

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : gap-pkg-semigroups
Product : Fedora 31
Version : 3.2.2
Release : 1.fc31
URL :
http://gap-packages.github.io/Semigroups/
Summary : GAP methods for semigroups
Description :
This is a GAP package containing methods for semigroups, monoids, and
inverse semigroups, principally of transformations, partial
permutations, bipartitions, subsemigroups of regular Rees 0-matrix
semigroups, free inverse semigroups, free bands, and semigroups of
matrices over finite fields.
Semigroups contains more efficient methods than those available in the
GAP library (and in many cases more efficient than any other software)
for creating semigroups, monoids, and inverse semigroup, calculating
their Green's structure, ideals, size, elements, group of units, small
generating sets, testing membership, finding the inverses of a regular
element, factorizing elements over the generators, and many more. It is
also possible to test if a semigroup satisfies a particular property,
such as if it is regular, simple, inverse, completely regular, and a
variety of further properties.
There are methods for finding congruences of certain types of
semigroups, the normalizer of a semigroup in a permutation group, the
maximal subsemigroups of a finite semigroup, and smaller degree partial
permutation representations of inverse semigroups. There are functions
for producing pictures of the Green's structure of a semigroup, and for
drawing bipartitions.

Update Information:
Changes in libsemigroups 1.0.4: - This is a minor release with several
improvements to the build system. It is now possible to build ``libsemigroups``
using an external installation of ``fmt`` with the configure option ``--with-
external-fmt``, and it should also be possible to build ``libsemigroups`` on
non-x86 architectures. Changes in libsemigroups 1.0.5: - This is a minor
release with some minor changes to the documentation and build system. The non-
trivial changes in this release were made by `Isuru Fernando`. Changes in gap-
pkg-semigroups 3.2.2: This is a minor release to update the version of
libsemigroups to v1.0.5, to include some changes for compatibility with GAP, and
to fix the following issues: * [Issue #632](https://github.com/gap-
packages/Semigroups/issues/632) where file objects were not closed properly if
an error was given; * [Issue #636](https://github.com/gap-
packages/Semigroups/issues/636) the compiler flag `-march=native` is only added
if it is supported by the compiler; * [Issue #637](https://github.com/gap-
packages/Semigroups/issues/637) where `IsomorphismPermGroup` sometimes returned
an incorrect answer. * The changes in this release were made by Max Horn and
James D. Mitchell.
