I have the MySQL element querying a table with data passed from a serial RFID reader - and it works great giving me the expected row in a semi-colon separated value string.
I would like to run one query, and break the resulting CSV string up into it's fields for use elsewhere in the flow for controlling access to features. I have not been able to find a plugin/element/method that can do this. The closest seems to be the 'CSV to Control' element - but it's outputs don't fit for this purpose.
A workaround seems to be having a 'MySQL Access' element and ' for each desired field - is this the only way? I have looked into the openSDK, but C/C++ is not something I am knowledgeable on :(
This should read...

I've used the 'Mixed to Characters' to build the dynamic SQL based on the data from the serial IO

Hi,
your are right, there is something missing at the moment...
How about this: we add a "CSV to String" and a "CSV to Number" conversion plug-in where you can input a line of CSV and can output the separated elements. Because there is a maximum of 8 elements you can choose within the configuration which field has to be assigned to which output. In case you have more fields within your CSV line you would need more of these conversion plug-ins.
Would that be a suitable solution for you?

That's exactly what I had in mind.
Would like to help with the project but until I get some C/C++ skills, massaging the manual would be about it.

Hi,
please find an updated package at http://www.openapc.com/download/Windows/index.php?c=1&f=libio_mysql.zip
It contains two new plug-ins for converting a line of CSV data to single elements of type char and number (there also a new liboapc.dll is included which has to be copied to the system-folder).
Within the configuration you have to define which field of the CSV data have to be assigned to which output.
These plug-ins will be part of the next release in case the work well for you.

I am having some 'odd' behaviour with the windows install that is preventing me from running anything in openAPC. It seems to have started after dropping in these .dll ?
I make a project on the windows box, and when trying to debug, it doesn't update any text fields. I also have an analogue clock tied to a unixtime output from the clock element - it doesn't display. After a few tries, the debugger seems to hang - windows doesn't report it as 'not responding' but I can't exit using the button at top - task manager is the only way to close it.
I rebooted - and when trying to open the same project on the same system - openAPC reports it cannot find any of the flowplugins in the project. Using file explorer I can see them in the flowplugin folder of openapc though.
Creating a new project, with jsut the clock element and analogue display... In debug, the analogue display doesn't update, and the 'ative flows' count in the debugger increments every second. The watch screen shows data on the unixtime output and the string output of the clock
Any ideas? Haven't reinstalled yet.

Eoin,
that sound s a bit strange, but may be you have different problems here.

You can check easily if it was caused by these DLLs. Uninstall the software, remove the DLLs and try the new version 1.7 - there all the new data are included, installation is done automatically (and should be done completely and correctly).
I make a project on the windows box, and when trying to debug, it doesn't update any text fields. I also have an analogue clock tied to a unixtime output from the clock element - it doesn't display.
Does this also happen in OpenPlayer or in OpenDebugger only?
After a few tries, the debugger seems to hang - windows doesn't report it as 'not responding' but I can't exit using the button at top - task manager is the only way to close it.
Is there a possibility to get that project? Means is it possible for you to remove all dependencies to external hardware and data sources so that I can test it here? If yes please send it to openapc(at)gmail(dot)com directly, We'll have a look what's going on there.
I rebooted - and when trying to open the same project on the same system
- openAPC reports it cannot find any of the flowplugins in the project.
Using file explorer I can see them in the flowplugin folder of openapc though.
That's very strange. The OpenAPC applications simply takes a look into the flowplugin and hmiplugin folders within its working directory - so when you start them correctly out of their installation directory they should find all their plug-ins. And at the moment I really don't know what a reboot could change here...
Creating a new project, with jsut the clock element and analogue display... In debug, the analogue display doesn't update, and the 'ative flows' count in the debugger increments every second.
That sounds a bit like an endles loop. Normally they are suppressed automatically but in some cases of data flow indirection you still can construct them. So when you use an output of one element as input for an other one and its output itself (later) is an input for the first one this can cause such a loop.
The watch screen shows data on the unixtime output and the string output of the clock
Same question here: do you have the same behaviour when running it in OpenPlayer?
Kind regards
Jim
