what's the "X zapping" part of this? unfamiliar with the reference.

recent builds :)
Since build 873 we have fixed:
Since release candidate 3 (build 872) we have fixed an issue where the
Record stop button was pushed off the edge of the toolbar in Spanish,
the friends tray for collaborators now correctly shows the members of

[livecd PATCH] Add initial support for ARM architectures
by Martin Langhoff
This allows us to get basic ARM builds going. It doesn't take care of
booting facilities, but those vary widely in the ARM world.
For the time being, setup for booting should be done in %post .
It might be possible to implement generally useful/configurable U-boot
support. OLPC doesn't use U-boot unfortunately. Someone with U-Boot
machines should help me here :-) We use OFW and all OFW needs is that
we drop a file in /boot .
The great firewall of china isn't letting me post this properly with
git-send-email :-/

Re: OLPC-AU release candidate RC3 (au867)
by Sridhar Dhanapalan
The Melbourne XO Club meets on 16 July, as part of the LUV Beginners' Workshop:
http://lists.luv.asn.au/wws/arc/luv-announce/2011-07/msg00001.html
http://luv.asn.au/2011/07/16
We need to have a release out by 25 July, which is the start of Term 3
in Northern Territory schools.
This release won't be directly available for XO-1s (we're phasing
those out). You can install our last (and latest stable) release
(10.1.3-au2) and run the upgrade routine. Your feedback on this would
be very valuable, as this is our intended method of getting our XO-1s
onto 10.1.3-au3.
Installing 10.1.3-au2[0] can be done by directly writing the image to
the XO, or through our XO-AU USB 2[1]. Once your XO is flashed and
working, you can run the upgrade routine as already outlined. To
repeat:
1. extract the ZIP file[3] to a USB drive
2. plug into the XO
3. turn on
Once the upgrade stick verifies that you have a 10.1.3-au release
installed, it will upgrade the OS to 10.1.3-au3.
Cheers,
Sridhar

Good news: mostly complete dist-f14 package list
by Martin Langhoff
from the OMG Ponies! dept -
Following on the topic of
http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/olpc/2011-April/002859.html ,
I put the commands into a script, and re-ran it against the latest
dist-14 repo.
The list we are missing is looking good. By good I mean:
set(['kernel', 'sugar-update-control', 'PolicyKit-olpc',
'telepathy-logger', 'dconf', 'perl-threads-shared', 'inkscape',
'olpc-powerd', 'csound', 'olpc-powerd-dbus', 'bootfw-q3b07', 'folks',
'olpc-bootanim', 'olpc-runin-tests', 'portmidi', 'gnome-dvb-daemon',
'ds-backup-client', 'dmidecode', 'libffado', 'prelink', 'atkmm',
'xorg-x11-drv-chrome', 'csound-python', 'perl-threads'])
Cross out the ones that are not in Fedora repos, and we're left with
very very few pkgs. csound and the folks + telepathy-logger pair
worry me a tad.
To state the obvious: this is dist-f14, no updates stream yet. So it
still isn't the same as our F14 builds, specially when you think about
Sugar, which is up to 0.92.3.14159265 or so lately.
But damn good if you ask me.We're getting close.
