That's because we have sugar 0.95.1. Please read the release notes to
find out what is there, there is no sugar release with it in yet, so
its not in a build.

Correct.

I have that on mine, we're at the beginning of the dev cycle to gtk3
so we might get weird bits here and there.

Top right, click on the "olpc user" and you get the shutdown option.

Thanks, it was about what I expected. We're about 3-4 months out from
the spit and polish side of things, more aimed at developers to get a
platform with systemd and all the libraries/tools needed for the port
to gtk3 etc.

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/Gnome_shell_software_rendering
states clearly that the fallback knob will still exist (and will
actually be converted to a tristate for some setups) and that fallback
mode will still be available for a while. It also details the
significant amount of work needed before it can be totally removed.
I don't doubt that the long term plan is to drop the fallback mode,
but for Fedora 17 it seems clear that fallback mode will still be
present.

Well that is really a tough one. Right now all the VIA development
work is going into the KMS/GEM driver. Would we want to push forward
with that merge?

Yes, its coming to F17 as a feature, as I said previously, that
doesn't mean that Fallback mode is going away in F17. I suspect
depending on how this process goes as part of F17 the fallback mode
will then likely disappear in F18. The FPL already has a XO-1 and from
the "merge the big XO F7 fork back into Fedora" that happened around
F9/10 there were around 50 odd XO-1s distributed through the community
then.
What is the state of merging out VIA driver back into mainline? That
would certainly help from the XO 1.5 PoV.

I don't think its the case for F17, but likely will be in the future.

I'll have a poke to find out the best.

Fwd: Announcing OLPC OS 11.3.0 for XO-1, XO-1.5 and XO-1.75
by Peter Robinson
All,
For those that have an XO 1 / 1.5 there's a new OS release for your XO.
Of significance this is the first Fedora release for the ARM based XO
1.75. I do believe this is the first commercial use and mass use of
Fedora on ARM. Thanks to all the Fedora crew that helped make this
happen.... now hurry up and get hardfp done already :-D

Many thanks to all contributors, testers, upstreams, and those who
