FWIW, I have noticed mmap errors while trying to deal with large files
(~70MB) on the standard OLPC builds. localedef does not work in the XO
for this (strace shows that it chokes when trying to mmap
/usr/lib/locale/locale-archive)

Hi Marco,
Some extra steps:

> * Apply live.patch in /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/imgcreate
* sudo yum -y install livecd-tools mtd-utils crcimg
* If you're building on F10, s/ext4/ext3/ in fedora-live-base.ks
> * sudo livecd-creator --cache=cache -c fedora-livecd-desktop.ks
I'm still not able to get the images I create to boot on the XO -- could
you confirm that you're using the Fedora kernel and initrd? I wonder
what else could be different between our setups..
Thanks!
- Chris.

Activities vs. RPM
by Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams
After watching the XO/RPM FUDCon video I had some ideas. This post
summarizes them:
http://ivazquez.livejournal.com/9390.html
If you're at all involved with activities I'd like you to read it and
share your thoughts.

Hi Marco,

I gave this a try, and I get a hang after "Loading ramdisk image.." in
OFW when booting a Rawhide image built on a Rawhide/x86-64 host. Will
try with a serial port connected tomorrow.
Thanks,
- Chris.

Idea for a new XO package.
by Steven M. Parrish
Coming from the wonderful land of KDE one of the best educational apps it has
is Marble. http://edu.kde.org/marble/ There is a current proposal in the
KDE-SiG to split Marble into a seperate package. If we decide to go this way
I would like to look at getting this into Sugar and on the XO.
Comments?

List of packages in XO SW and not in Fedora 10
by Greg Smith
Hi Greg D or Dennis,
Can you post a list of packages which are in XO Software but not
"upstream" yet?
I wrote down "koji latest-pkg dist-olpc4 --all" from our last IRC
meeting and documented it here:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Feature_roadmap/Rebase_on_Fedora_10
but I don't know where or how to execute that.
If you can run it and get a list and post it to that wiki page that
would be great. Or you could link to the documentation which shows how
anyone can generate that list.
I want to have this in hand before I talk to John P at Fudcon January 8
so any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg S

F11 has Python 2.6 which already has it.
