Hi,
Just wanted to point out the slowly-growing list of custom packages that we're including in the XO-1.5 F11 build:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/F11_for_1.5#Modifications_to_Fedora
I'm hoping to spearhead some efforts to get these included in the Fedora package tree (specifically dracut, dracut-modules-olpc, olpc-bootanim, olpc-library, olpc-switch-desktop and olpc-utils) but I have not found the time yet. If anyone wants to contribute and has some time on their hands, getting a head start on a couple of these would be a huge help.
cheers Daniel
Hi Daniel,

A couple of things.
There's already an olpc-utils package in Fedora. I'm the current maintainer of the package. Let me know how I can help, or you can request to be added to the ACL here https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/packages/name/olpc-utils and do it yourself.
Also can you add any RH BZ stuff you do as a blocker to the tracker bug to make it easier to track https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462625
I would be surprised if dracut doesn't make it to rawhide soon as its on the Feature list for F12. I'll poke some people here at FudCon to try and find out the status.
I also noticed an updated openchrome driver hit F11 testing in the last day or so, not sure if that has the changes you mention.
Cheers, Peter

Looks like that would be a good package to start with, I've requested the access.

OK. We don't have any yet.

Yeah, but they probably don't plan to include it in F11. If you find them, please explain OLPC's plans to deploy this with the F11 XO-1.5 build and hence our desires to see it in the F11 tree.
When they add it to F12, they will be making it a replacement for mkinitrd, integrating it into the kernel RPM, and so on. They obviously won't do that for F11 and that's not what we want either. We'd just like it as a standard Fedora package which does nothing until someone executes /usr/bin/dracut from the command line to build an initramfs.

Wow..Xavier rocks. It looks like it should work. Thanks for pointing this out!

Just a reminder ;-)

Its worth enabling the updates-testing repo as it gets those sort of fixes quite quickly, and is pretty stable. I enable it on all my machines.
