Hi,
Would it be a good idea to have a packager group for Ocaml, similar to what we already have for Python, Rust, and (sssh) Lua?
Benefit: for those who are not active in this list, getting a request to add a packaging group to help co-maintain a package probably feels more trustworthy than getting asked by an individual packager.
Also, as (hopefully) we get more expert packagers - I definitely won't volunteer to be put in this group right now (I'm in the other three) - these can get added to the group and don't have to manually ask for access to individual packages.
I did it a while back for Lua, so I probably still have my notes about how to do this somewhere.
Best regards,

I don't disagree with you, but I think it will not make a huge difference at the end of the day, because the most active OCaml packagers are Jerry and Rich [1] who are already proven packagers anyway.
So I'd leave it up to the two to make the call.
Cheers,
Dan

Oh, no disagreement there, I agree 100% with this observation.
PS Dan, I can't reply directly to you as your domain is... not found?
whois says it's expiring soon (2022-01-19) and dig/host on both my personal and work networks and using https://toolbox.googleapps.com/apps/dig/ fails

I guess I'm not clear on the benefits that such a group would provide. Can you explain a bit more, Michel?
I'm not opposed to the idea. It might be great. I'm just not sure how it would be different from the status quo.
