My head is down, and I'm working on a bunch of post-FUDCon, budget, 6-12 month planning stuff with Greg and our boss this week... FWN is still very much on my mind though, and it is not forgotten.
I have had a couple of emails from beat writers looking to step up, and maybe start to assume some of the "editor" duties of FWN. I would be *thrilled* to see that transition "just happen", and have someone swoop in here and help get a FWN out the door, and then figure out a schedule to re-base us on that allows their particular vision to be implemented.
I could then see my role as one of helping to move things forward on the wordpress multi-user front, and the infrastructure improvements that will make FWN more sustainable long-term.
But if someone is ready to jump in and take some leadership, consider this your "blessing" from me! :)
I can't say enough how much I appreciate the hard work of this entire team. It's been a challenging couple of weeks for FWN, but I think we're moving along well.
Critical path:
1) new editor in chief, someone to handle the content
2) go through our beat writer roster and figure out if some of the people who have been MIA are coming back, or if we really need to step up our recruitment
3) infrastructure changes for a more scalable content process in the future.
that's all i have for the moment...

Hi Max, I can take over, if that is ok with you.

I would also be happy to help out more with FWN, though I do not think I would have time to both serve as editor and continue with the marketing beat, so that might fill one role and open another. :)
There may be goodness in having more than one person help out with FWN's editorship. I agree with the critical path that Max has outlined; this is a fair amount for one person to take on. I would be happy to share some of the responsibilities and contribute here as part of a team.

Pascal emailed me last week offering to take some leadership, so I think the idea of letting Pascal and Huzaifa work together to figure out how to put their own leadership stamp on FWN would be a great thing.
I'm happy to continue with the "announcements" beat, and if necessary, I'd also be willing to take the Marketing beat off Pascal's hands.
Thank you all for your help, and for volunteering your time to Fedora Weekly News, which really is a very, very important piece of our community.

Ok, sounds great -- let's do it!
Huzaifa, to start let's focus on getting this issue out and then we can parse out the critical path that Max has outlined.
Beat writers, let's all plan for an FWN issue with a deadline this Sunday, midnight Pacific time.
For those beats submitted last week, let's just append onto what you submitted there for this week's issue.
Max, I can put together one more Marketing beat for this week. Thanks for being willing to pick this up and continue with the announcements beat!

Ok, I just finished my infrastructure beat.
btw are we still using the following table. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FWN/Beats#Beats_Sections
I just updated this table with a couple of beats which have been completed
So we have marketing, arts, infrastructure, Ambassador complete. We are still missing others.
So right now it seems like we have the following missing:

Not sure if we will have an issue this week, but I updated the Artwork beat for this week (#132 I believe, we skipped last week, right? I had a poor beat for that week anyway[*])
