Syncing once a week is not enough for the updates. Please consider syncing the updates at least daily.

Please use a tier 1/2 mirror[1] close to you; create an account in the MirrorManager[2]; register your mirror in the mirror manager; enter your local netblocks in the mirror manager (if desired); run report_mirror[3] and as soon as you are listed in the database as up to date yum (and other clients) will be redirected to your mirror.

Hi:
I have signed at https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mirrormanager with mirror title "sohu mirror" The detailed site, host, mirror categories and related urls are all in that page. (including fedora linux and fedora epel linux and can be accessed by http, ftp or rsync )
Then what is the next step?just run report_mirror ? (keep running it after each rsync?)
How can we check our mirror status? And when we can see our mirror in the public mirror list?
Thank you very much!

Yes, please run report_mirror after each rsync.
In the mirrormanager web interface, you can click on your host name, then a Category, and see all the directories that MM believes you have which are up-to-date.
It generally takes about 2 hours for you to appear in the mirror lists.
Thank you for your contribution to Fedora!

Somehow the 'user active' boxes on both your Site and Host entries were cleared, meaning MM will ignore your mirror, and it won't appear in any lists. I've checked the boxes again, and so within a few hours you should start seeing user traffic.

Hi:
About the report_mirror,it seems not occasionally to me. I have not successed for even once up to present to run it. It still says: [@ZJM_10_96 ~]# report_mirror -c /etc/mirrormanager-client/report_mirror.conf Error checking in. Connection closed before checkin complete. Please try again later.
How to solve this problem?
Or to ask one question: Is it necessary to run "report_mirror" at the client for public mirrors? If the answer is not,we would rather not run it....

Hi:
We found something wrong with the report_mirror The errors showed as below:
Error checking in. Connection closed before checkin complete. Please try again later.
When we run as " report_mirror -c /etc/mirrormanager-client/report_mirror.conf -n -d", it was ok.
So it seems the there is some problem with communication between we two hosts. ( the netstat -na result showed : TCP 123.129.214.98:52752->66.35.62.166:https (ESTABLISHED) )
We wonder why did it happen? What was the problem?

This happens occasionally, though we haven't been able to figure out why. It's mostly harmless, and will succeed on subsequent report_mirror runs.
