New EPEL mirror in Turkey: mirror.alastyr.com
by Alastyr Mirrors 22 Sep '26

22 Sep '26

Hello, We would like to introduce a new public EPEL mirror in Izmir, Turkiye. Host mirror.alastyr.com Location Izmir, Turkiye (TR) IPv4 5.2.80.47 IPv6 2a06:ad40:0:1::47 Bandwidth 10 Gbit/s outbound Network AS3188 (Alastyr) Protocols https, http, rsync https://mirror.alastyr.com/epel rsync://mirror.alastyr.com/epel The site ("Alastyr") and host are registered in MirrorManager under the FAS account "alastyr", carrying the Fedora EPEL category. We sync the full tree (EPEL 8, 9, 10, testing and next) from ftp.fau.de four times a day. The crawler has already checked the host, and it now appears in the TR mirrorlist for epel-9 and epel-10.4. Until now Turkiye had a single EPEL mirror. The same server already serves AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux, together about 15 TB a week, so EPEL reaches the same users who need it most. Contact: mirrors(a)alastyr.com Thank you, Serkan Alastyr

New public mirror: mirror.verinomi.com (Denizli, Turkey) - EPEL
by "Verinomi Bilişim Teknolojileri San. ve T ic. Ltd. Şti." 20 Sep '26

Hello, I would like to introduce a new public mirror and register it with MirrorManager for EPEL. Organisation Verinomi Bilisim Teknolojileri San. ve Tic. Ltd. Sti. https://www.verinomi.com <https://www.verinomi.com/> We are an ISP in Denizli, Turkey, operating our own ASN (AS213274). This is our own hardware on our own network - no CDN in front of it. Mirror https://mirror.verinomi.com/epel/ http://mirror.verinomi.com/epel/ rsync://mirror.verinomi.com/epel/ Location and network Location: Denizli, Turkey (TR) IPv4: 193.162.43.250 (netblock 193.162.43.0/24) IPv6: 2a0f:cb00::103 (dual stack) Bandwidth: 10 Gbit/s outbound, unmetered ASN: AS213274 Content We carry EPEL 8, 9 and 10 for x86_64 and aarch64. Excluded: debug, source/SRPMS, ppc64le, s390x, and the EOL trees 4-7. Current size on disk: 211 GB. The crawler files are served and current: /epel/fullfiletimelist-epel /epel/fullfilelist /epel/imagelist-epel Sync Upstream: rsync://mirrors.xtom.de/epel/ Frequency: every 3 hours, with flock to prevent overlapping runs A run currently completes in 2-6 minutes. Note on tooling: we sync with plain rsync rather than quick-fedora-mirror. We checked 18 candidate upstreams and only mirrors.mit.edu <http://mirrors.mit.edu/> offers the fedora-buffet module; it measured 6.8 MB/s for us against 39 MB/s from mirrors.xtom.de <http://mirrors.xtom.de/>, with an identical repomd.xml timestamp. Since we pull from a public mirror and not from your master servers, this puts no load on Fedora infrastructure. We are happy to switch if you would prefer it. Other mirrors we run We also mirror AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Arch Linux, Linux Mint, Alpine, MX Linux, Manjaro, OPNsense, BlackArch, Parrot and VideoLAN, and are officially listed with AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Linux Mint, MX Linux, OPNsense and Hiren's BootCD.
