Well "modular" in the sense I was using it refers to the "Modular" set
of repositories and functionality in dnf which allows packages in those
repositories to overlay the regular repositories. It's basically how we
can allow sets of conflicting packages to coexist.

Then poke around on a mirror and download what you want.

I'm "tibbs" in #fedora-devel and various other related channels on
libera. Still no matrix for me as I'm waiting for a non-terrible
client.

# du -s /srv/mirror/pub/fedora-buffet/fedora/linux/development/rawhide/Everything/x86_64
178634840 /srv/mirror/pub/fedora-buffet/fedora/linux/development/rawhide/Everything/x86_64
That leaves out the arm architectures as well as the source packages.
You can do even less if don't want the ISO file or the debuginfo packages:
# du -s os
86534556 os
But of course it depends on exactly what you want.

Pick a mirror that does rsync, and grab just the subset of
fedora-enchilada that you want. For example:
rsync rsync://pubmirror1.math.uh.edu/fedora-enchilada/linux/development/rawhide...
Just add your usual options and a destination. Of course, you might not
be near me so you may want to pick another mirror.
That's an installable tree and includes minimal boot images (so you can
do a PXE install or set up a VM using just what's in that directory).
Stick that on a web server and I believe you have enough to install and
update a basic rawhide machine (as long as it's x86_64, of course, and
doesn't use the modular stuff). You will of course need to configure
the installed system to look at that repository instead of using the
global ones. I'm pretty sure for a base rawhide system that's only
/etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-rawhide.repo
> I saw a swiss mirror and it had the full enchilada?
Plenty of mirrors have fedora-enchilada, I think. Just find one that
has good bandwidth and latency for you.

Depends on what you want to mirror. However, just the
fedora/linux/development/rawhide directory is over 500GB:
# du -sk rawhide
534363340 rawhide
That includes three architectures. Mirroring the rawhide portion of the
fedora-secondary tree would of course be larger.

It depends on exactly what you want. If you just want a local copy of
the files that you can configure dnf/yum/whatever to access, then you
just rsync the content from some mirror near you, put it some place your
client machines can access and configure them appropriately. You don't
have to tell anyone about that or configure anything in mirrormanager.
If on the other hand you want clients in appropriate netblocks to be
pointed to your mirror (as one of the possibilities they receive) when
they request the list of mirrors from mirrormanager, then you need to
need to tell mirrormanager what to do and what netblock your clients are
in.

Seems on topic to me.

Yes. Otherwise how would mirrormanager know to direct your clients to
your mirror?

But you have multiple clients, yes? What netblock are they in? That's
what mirrormanager needs to know.

Private Mirror
by Jonathan Aquilina
Good Afternoon,
I need to setup a private repo for rawhide I was told that is about 200gb. I am looking at the documentation for private mirrors and they are not clear on the way forward on how to get this setup.
Is this the right place to ask and seek assistance?
Also Im noticing that you require a netblock even for private mirrors. Is this absolutely necessary as my VPS provider gives me a single IPv4 but i can get a whole /64 ipv6 netblock assigned if necessary.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
