But in this example there is no querying. Just stuff like:

which is more in line with what I'd expect from the C++ API too.
I agree, however, without querying for the schema we still won't know what data objects are exposed. I think the reason behind having the query is not only for newly added agents but existing agents that may have their schema changed during connection.
