Personally I like everything you proposed except I like putting the { on the same line as switch. I don't care that much, though. +1.

the only other comment i'd make is regarding:
x = a + b * c;
I would prefer we did not rely on operator precedence and made the intent unambiguous by using brackets. Ie.
x = a + ( b * c );
This would be fine though:
x = a + b - c;
