> I think we should leave magazine objectives to the folks who are doing
the
Magazine most actively. I don't know that, for instance, this time is
going to work well for Ryan and wouldn't want to be discussing magazine
objectives without the folks doing the bulk of the work.

reasonable topic
here, but not setting Magazine objectives.)
I can agree with getting input from the entire Magazine team, but I
don't
think there is any harm with starting the discussion in the meeting
and moving that discussion to the mailing list later on. The editorial
board meetings are usually short-sighted and I think that this meeting
would be a good opportunity to try to brainstorm some long-term objectives
for the Magazine and how it integrates with other objectives in Fedora. We
could easily move this discussion to the list for a wider range of
opinions after the meeting.
I do think having the discussion without the Magazine team here is a Bad
Idea(TM). If they're not addressing long-term stuff have we tried bringing
that topic to their meeting?
> "requirements for joining marketing" == uh, show up?
Do work? :-) We
shouldn't have any barriers to contributing here. If this is
about FAS
account membership, or whatever, people should get membership *AFTER* they
have made contributions.
This was more along the lines of FAS account membership. Gabri noted
that many
times, people will introduce themselves on the list, get
approved in the FAS group, and then fall off shortly thereafter. I think
we were wanting to identify the steps to come up with a definite "how to
become an official Marketing team member" versus raising the bar for
getting started with contributing.
That shouldn't happen. Not sure who's approving those folks, but they
shouldn't be doing it. IIRC we agreed some time ago that FAS Membership
for marketing was based on actually *doing* things for a release, and it
could also be lost if the member didn't do anything for an entire release
cycle.
> Note also: ALL plans are future plans. Planning for the past
would be
futile. Future plans is redundant. :-)
My interpretation of this was more as a preventative measure of actively
coming up
with ideas to prevent Marketing from falling into inactivity
like it has the past couple of cycles. Perhaps it could use some rewording
for the topic – but I think the purpose of this section is preventative
action to combat the problems that we have faced in previous cycles.
> I would like to keep the "state of" section pretty brief and be ready
to jump into planning for F24 and beyond.
+1 from me too. This will be where the most meat of the meeting will be.
