Just realized that the discussion was done in fudcon-planning. It should actually be discussion in malaysian-users@ as fudcon-planning@ is moderated and not everyone can post.

What is wrong with making sure who got sponsored to come and speak actually show up?
I am ok with barcamp style but my chief concerns are the sponsored ones.
you lost me there >.< .. i thought this thread is discussing about rooms :-) , wrong thread? .. though i didnt notice any thread nor remember an irc chat with someone going against having someone ensuring ppl to show up ..
and speaker room, in my previous mail i used the word 'hangout room' because i'm planning it to be open anyway, not just for speakers, to allow people to mingle together, - basically, the place to go to find someone who are not listening to any talks .. perhaps one of the larger rooms .. i dont want a speaker-only room as such room will means speaker and attendees are in separate plane and will interact less. I want people to interact more :-)
we also need some sort of flow to ensure that food is given to sponsored attendees. Leaving the food in public will mean some of them will disappear .. lol ..
Currently i'm planning to put food in the secretariat and the sponsored attendees will need to pick up their food there, the secretariat will basically be the-place-where-we-dump-everything, and limited access for security reason.
