Proposal: due dates in Taiga for publishing schedule
by Adam Samalik
Hi all,
What if we use the "due date" field in our Taiga [1] to set the publishing
schedule?
I did that for the upcoming articles, and wrote a simple script [2] that
can pull it out:
$ podman run asamalik/magazine-schedule
Wed 27 Nov 2019: #105 How to rebase to Fedora 31 on Silverblue
Fri 29 Nov 2019: #102 Create a VM with libvirt and Cockpit
Mon 02 Dec 2019: #45 Toolbox
Wed 04 Dec 2019: #69 Using Ansible to organize your ssh keys in AWS
(all you need to have on your system is podman)
What do people think?
Cheers,
Adam
PS: I could also get that running in communishift or somewhere, which would
give us a URL with the publishing schedule.

Article/Series proposal
by Silvia Sánchez
Hello all,
I opened an issue in Fedora Magazine to propose the series "History of
Fedora" and a first article I can write myself that would cover the
origins of Fedora.
The link is this one: https://pagure.io/fedora-magazine-proposals/issue/34
Please, tell me what to do next and what's your opinion about it.
Cheers,
Silvia

Idea
by pmkellly@frontier.com
I was thinking of things that would make good articles and remembered an
presentation I had found on line a while back. The link is below. I
think a remake of this would be well received. The following are
suggestions for the update:
Less focus on politics
Updated to current state
An article not a slide set
I think folks like to know about the history of things they are involved
with.
I'm not qualified to write this; so I haven't posted it as an article
proposal.
Have a Great Day!

Suggested publishing schedule
by Paul Frields
Friday: Sharing Fedora (edit/image: stickster)
Monday: Create and install a virtual machine using Cockpit (needs
edit, needs image)
Wednesday: Quick introduction to Toolbox (needs edit, needs image)
Friday: Using Ansible to organize SSH keys (needs minor edit?, needs image)
I can get Friday's article ready so we stay on schedule. We need
editors and image makers to help out so we're in good shape for next
week. Any takers?

Yet Another Introduction
by Ryan W Walter
Howdy Y'all,
My name is Ryan Walter, username rwaltr, I've been lurking around the Fedora community for the last 3 or so years and would like to further my contributions to the project and involvement into the Linux Community as a whole.
I am a new time Linux writer, you can see my previous works at https://blog.waltr.tech if you are curious. Most of them are short blerbs explaining a certain technology or experiences.
During the day, I am a Tier II Support Technician for a data center in the Central Texas area. Typically doing anything from fixing Linux boxes to making site to site tunnels.
After work, I typically game on Fedora and follow up on most of the Open source news.
While browsing the Taiga instance. I noticed that one of the topics is a simple introduction for Toolbox, I am currently working on how to use Toolbox to help deploy my main website (Mainly to help match Hugo versions). If there is currently no one assigned to that topic I would be willing to take it over and create the first draft.
Happy Thursday!

* Week of Nov 11: 82.6K pageviews -- this is quite above average -- we
continue to have strong readership for F31 announcements, but also
the disk space math article worked very well! (stickster, 13:08:11)
* -- 2/ Publishing schedule -- (stickster, 13:11:27)

* LINK:

* IDEA: For "best of" articles, virtually anyone could write them. We
may be able to use site stats to figure out the most popular
articles, and there's your top 5 list (stickster, 13:37:17)
* IDEA: However, we do need to apply some smarts -- certain articles
in that list are "continually popular" articles not published this
year. So we need to check each one to be sure (stickster, 13:39:06)
* ACTION: stickster figure out a popular-posts list/solution and post
results back to list to get the ball rolling (stickster, 13:45:32)
Meeting ended at 13:48:06 UTC.

SSO article edited/scheduled
by Paul Frields
At the last meeting, I took on the action to edit the SSO article and
schedule it. Originally it was scheduled for Wednesday November 20,
but because we inserted the pastebin article on Friday November 15,
everything moved one slot later. So I've scheduled it for Friday
November 22.
