I'm working on Fedora Ticket #116. I've installed the zikula and zikula-module-advanced_polls RPMs on pt16. I'm having a problem with the Advanced Polls. I was hoping that someone on this list might have a suggestion.
Under Advanced Polls, click on the 'New Poll' tab.
Clicking on New Poll brings up a Create Poll screen.
I filled out the fields and hit 'Create Poll'. A new page comes up: Page not found
We're sorry. The page you requested, /zikula/index.php?module=Advanced%20Polls&type=admin&func=create, doesn't exist on "Fedora Test Site for Polls". Search
You can also search this site to find what you are looking for.

I clicked on 'Back'. The page said 'Poll Created' at top. If I click on the 'View Polls' tab, the poll that I just created shows up. If I click on 'Advanced Polls' on the right, a new page displays. If I click on the new poll, I get a page with the title and description. However there are no options. Nor was I ever asked to enter any options. If I click on the Vote button, I get the following: Error! Could not do what you wanted. Please check your input.
I can edit the poll and add the options. I voted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Frank
Are you using the latest version of Advanced_Polls http://community.zikula.org/module-Extensions-display-ot-component-component...
Only this version is compatible with Zikula 1.2.x as far as I am aware.

Drak, Thanks for the info.
Here's what is on pt16: zikula-1.2.2-2.el5.fedora.infra zikula-module-advanced_polls-1.5.1-1.el5
The version which you pointed me to below is 2.0.0. It was released on May 25, 2010.
So I guess my next step is to ask the packager to update the package.

I think it might be a good idea for the packagers to subscribe to the extDB rss feeds so they can be kept up to date on these things :)
Ya'll need to update to Zikula 1.2.3 also :-P

Small hitch in that plan, though, Drak -- Zikula 1.2.3 now apparently depends on PHP >= 5.2.6, and on RHEL 5.x, PHP 5.1.6 is what's included.
Are we now going to have to roll a custom PHP for use with Zikula? Or should we plan to make the hosting a Fedora box with a more current PHP?
Zikula 1.3.0 depends on PHP 5.2.6, Zikula 1.2.3 is supposed to be PHP4 safe.

Drak:
The currently download page here: http://zikula.org/CMS/Download/
indicates that 5.2.6 is the php requirement. (We have 1.2.2 running on php 5.1.2, if nothing has changed that would require a newer php version I'll push up 1.2.3 to epel-testing)
Thanks
David

Yeah, sorry, it's a lie :-P
Zikula 1.2.3 is PHP 4 compatible. Zikula 1.3.0 will be PHP 5.2.6+ Sorry for the confusion.

I would rather not roll a custom PHP, been there done that for my previous employer - it ain't fun :). However, IIRC a newer PHP is available in a layered product (RHWAS maybe? - I'm not at home to look immediately) for RHEL5. I'm not sure what our posistion is around access to/use of such a thing, though.

Yeah, Red Hat Application Stack has an updated PHP (and much more...)

The package has been ready to go pending the release of the Zikula 1.2.3 package.

Yeah, anytime I miss an update please submit a bug.

Yep, I'm subscribed but it may be a few days before I catch up on my reading.

The updated package should be in testing and I'd love some karma! [1]

Frank - you want to look at Eric Christensen's package that's in updates-testing iirc - that's the only version of that module that will work with the version being used by infra.
