Hey Buddhika,
I have just talked to María on IRC and there is a good news for you. I'll help you in mentoring and have a co-mentor, tatica. What do you think? -- Peter Borsa http://asrob.net gpg fingerprint: EF52 EF5D 9604 E11C 8219 242B AB24 5B0B C6CD 1242

Hello!
Yes, I was offline due to a family emergency. Asrob told me about it and I though that the best thing we can do to support you is mentor you as team. :)

That sounds great. Co-mentoring can really work out well, especially for two busy people. Just be sure to stay in regular contact together, as well as the student.
I did want to add that a mentor doesn't need to be an expert in the system they are mentoring for. Instead you need to be able to:
* Help students write the best proposals they can, which is more than just technical information. ** ... but you can help get the technical experts to review the proposal. * Connect the student with the resources (technical, infrastructure, etc.) to do their project. * Keep track of the student's progress so she or he doesn't just disappear without you even knowing. * Be an advisor to the student on how to get things done the open source way, in the Fedora Project. * Take care of mid-term and final evaluations.
For example, I mentored Dimitris Glezos when he wrote the first instance of Transifex as a GSoC project, and I had very little clue about the programming technology. :)

Hello Karsten,
Thanks for the sharing, we can follow them and KIT with the student. There is only 3 days to go with ORG application deadline. But still there is no respond from the FPL or the Board. I ll keep pinging them, thanks.
