[Insight] Fixing problems -- a process
by Paul W. Frields
I see that Peter went in and fixed some tickets in our Insight system.
However, there is a lot of information missing in the tickets. The
more changes we make without documentation in the tickets, the harder
it will get for us to collaborate over time. And the converse is also
true -- if we document well, it's easier to learn and collaborate.
I wrote up a suggested process for changes here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_develop_for_Insight
I would like to discuss this as part of our agenda today.
Until we do that, it would be best to delay any further changes to the
app. Thanks!

[Insight] Some additional package reviews appreciated
by Paul W. Frields
I am about to finish Jon's package review request for Drupal 7 (not
that it affects us really). I could use a couple reviews of some more
modules, if anyone can oblige. I'm happy to trade a review of your
Drupal module for one of mine. :-) These are shown in priority order,
top first.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693117
Review Request: drupal6-backup_migrate - Database backup, restore, and
migrate module for Drupal 6
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693119
Review Request: drupal6-login_destination - Customize login landing
page in Drupal 6
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693118
Review Request: drupal6-admin_menu - Theme-independent administration
interface for Drupal 6
By the way, did you know this page exists, is up to date, and should
be correct and complete for most modules? It also helps you build
properly for Fedora 13, 14, 15+, and EL-5 and EL-6 using one spec
file.

Update
by Paul W. Frields
Staging worked:
http://insight.stg.fedoraproject.org
Note the following:
* The publictest09 box is no longer the content host. If we want to
add any content, that should happen on the host above. Once again, *we
are not using the publictest boxes for any more content.*
* We need to switch the FAS authentication over to real FAS. I believe
we're ready for this as well. Note that we had to take the following
actions:
* Remove the login block on the front page, which affected the
proper securing of logins
* Instead there is a "Login" at the top menu under the title. I'm
not thrilled by this arrangement and would rather put it back down on
the side, but I'll work on that.
* When someone logs in, they are redirected to HTTPS, so we can keep
things secured
* Once we're satisfied this is working well, it's time to switch
over the authfas module settings (this is just done inside Drupal,
takes < 1 minute to change and test)
I can't think of anything else right now. Tomorrow I am not going to
be able to just work on Insight, since I have a bunch of other $DAYJOB
deliverables looming that I have to attend to. But I will be around to
answer questions and do quick tasks, so don't be afraid to ping me. I
want to get everything into shape to beat the freeze. ;-)

[Insight] [IMPORTANT] Staging on insight.stg.fp.o now uses REAL FAS
by Paul W. Frields
Hi all,
According to Toshio, we are OK to start authenticating on the staging
instance (https://insight.stg.fedoraproject.org) to real FAS. I've
made the appropriate changes:
* Pointed the AuthFAS module at admin.fp.o/accounts
(In staging, there is magic that makes this actually resolve to
admin.stg.fp.o -- so when we move to production it will simply keep
working properly using the real admin.fp.o)
* Turned OFF the "trust invalid SSL certs" option.
This means if something goes wrong with the SSL certs on the FAS
server, we'll know about it. Of course, many other apps will make
sure other people know about it, so this isn't a problem, just
providing this info for the sake of being complete. :-)
So -- to reiterate, when you login to insight.stg.fp.o, you will use
your REAL FAS account information, and it should be secured via HTTPS
to the best of everyone's knowledge.
The publictest09 server continues to use FakeFAS. Our development
there will most likely be piecemeal now, and we'll discuss that next
week at our regular meeting.
