www.fpo redesign status

Hi, The original due date for the finished www.fpo mockups is this Friday. I'm on a business trip this week and it's quite clear to me now I just won't be able to make the deadline. :( Would it be okay if I tried for next Friday, Oct. 2? It should still leave 2 weeks for HTML/CSS on those pages, and the spins mocks have been done for a week so it shouldn't hold up Hiemanshu & co. since they still have those to work on. For reference our schedule is: * DONE: #Requirements gathering * DONE: #First design mockups * DONE Aug 21 - Aug 28 : gather feedback, determine metrics, usability testing for spins.fp.o (mizmo) * DONE Aug 21 - Sep 04 : gather feedback, determine metrics, usability testing for get.fp.o (mizmo) * DONE Aug 28 - Sep 20 : Final design mockups for spins.fp.o (mizmo) * Sep 04 - Sep 27 : Final design mockups for get.fp.o (mizmo) * Sep 20 - Oct 20: convert spins.fp.o and get.fp.o to html/css (hiemanshu) * Oct 20 : get spins.fp.o and get.fp.o onto infrastructure (ricky) ~m (schedule from https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Website_redesign_2009)

Unblocking pagemaster and filterutil module package reviews

Both of these packages should be ready for review. Pagemaster: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=519483 (and https://fedorahosted.org/marketing-team/ticket/65#comment:3) Filterutil: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=526595 (and https://fedorahosted.org/marketing-team/ticket/25) I'll be the maintainer of these packages for now so that Toshio can proceed with the reviews. Rahul is, however, planning on stepping in later and re-taking maintainership from me. This is based on yesterday's Marketing meeting, http://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-meeting/2009-09-29/fedora-meeting.2… starting at 20:25:08. Holler if there's anything else I can do to help unblock this. --Mel PS: We're almost done with packaging for the F12 Fedora Insight release - ezComments is waiting for Dustin Diaz to reply; https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=523343 (and https://fedorahosted.org/marketing-team/ticket/36) and I believe the other module we have left to tackle before launch is Something For WYSIWYG, and that some wonderful Docs people have already been doing this, but do not know who's doing that and what's up with it... if anyone reading this knows, can you ping me? Fedora Insight schedule slip: new launch date 10/14

We originally planned to launch Fedora Insight on September 29 (right before infrastructure freeze), but I think we'll be in a much better position to get a stable platform up and tested, with a contribution workflow we're all happy with, if we push the launch date out until right after the freeze instead. Therefore, our new launch target is Oct 14 (when the freeze lifts), and our revised schedule is on https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Insight#Schedule. I'd like everyone to be happy with what we're putting out there, instead of feeling panicked and scrambling to rush things in before the freeze hits - sanity is good. I'm at work so I have to reply on my mobile. These are libraries used literally every time Zikula is run, and they dont just disappear so I can only assume they were accidentally deleted or otherwise broken by someone. spins.fpo mockups complete

Hi, I just finished the set of mockups for spins.fpo. The original deadline was today so yay for making deadlines. :) They are available here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Website_redesign_2009/Mockups/Spins.fpo Some caveats: - I did a KDE-specific banner graphic for the KDE pages. I can do the same for other desktop environment spins that have distinctive upstream logo marks. There is a generic solid banner design presented in the mockups as well to serve as the banner for the non-DE spins. - The text in the home and about screens for the KDE spin details is pretty much filler text. I am hoping that individual spin maintainers can help develop this content when the site is built. - I am not 100% which spins are going to be available for F12. Some of the ones in the mockup don't exist yet (e.g. Art Studio). Is a definitive list available anywhere right now? - It appears that previous version of spins are not available for all spins except for KDE and Desktop. Remaining FI platform blockers

For Fedora insight, we've got a "move stuff to staging" deadline of September 20 (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Insight#Schedule) which is this Sunday. So I want to make sure we all know where we stand... Mo, Simon, and I agreed to list the remaining FI platform (read: non-content, non-workflow - this includes the infra/skin/design) blockers in order to try to minimize bottlenecks. We're hoping this will allow other people to take some of the load off our plate (as some people have already started doing - thank you for stepping in with module packaging, Toshio!) Here's my first pass at it, also reflected in reflected in https://fedorahosted.org/marketing-team/query?status=new&status=assigned&st…; Mo and Simon will chime in shortly with additions/modifications to the list. If anyone else knows something that's missing, please chime in - or better yet, add a https://fedorahosted.org/marketing-team/newticket with the Fedora Insight component. I'll make sure the tickets stay up-to-date with any responses to this thread, but both emailing /and/ making a ticket makes my life easier. ;) * Simon needs to walk a packager through packaging the filterutil module and packaging an updated pagemaster module. Toshio has taken a first pass at it, so Simon needs to figure out whether this clears the blocker (and if not, specify what is required to clear the blocker). The packages will also need to be reviewed and deployed. https://fedorahosted.org/marketing-team/ticket/25 * Mo needs to finish v.1.0 development of the skin and create tickets for any blockers that prevent her from doing so, so that others can resolve them (for instance, "I can't find the tag that does $foo," or "$module doesn't work.") www.fpo designs update :(

Hi, With the Zikula skinning work proving to be a lot more challenging than I could have ever anticipated, it looks like I am going to need extra time on the www.fpo and spins.fpo design work. The original dates we had discussed: ∘ final design mockups for spins.fpo due sep 20 ∘ final design mockups for get.fpo due sep 27 To me, it looks like this is just not going to be remotely possible without multiple all-nighters. This is also complicated by the fact I will be on a business trip Sep 21-25 and it's likely (but not impossible) I won't have much spare time during that week. Is there any way we can push back dates on these items at all? Or should I drop Zikula skinning (the skin was due Sep 15, due to a number of technical blockers that date was missed) and move on to the websites mockups right now or should I power through the Zikula skinning and hope for more time on the fpo mockups? I'm really sorry this is so short-notice. I started work on the Zikula skin a couple of weeks early to try to avoid this situation but apparently that wasn't enough. :( ~m
